Throughout history, the crown of England has been the subject of fierce conflict. In the Middle Ages, the War of the Roses erupted as a result of this contest. In an attempt to claim the throne, the Duke of York aimed to overthrow both King Henry VI and his heir, with the ultimate goal of ascending the throne himself.
