Iku is fascinated by Mimori's ability to physically interact, whereas Mimori is intrigued by Iku's ability to perceive him. Eventually, the two determine to become roommates. However, Iku becomes apprehensive as Mimori reenacts his demise every night at 23:45, only to wake up with no remembrance of his previous experiences. Iku takes it upon himself to put an end to Mimori's perpetual cycle and embarks on a mission to break the loop.
