Mako Mochizuki, a freshman in high school, has a love for photography, which she inherited from her late grandfather. However, she struggles with finding direction in life, especially when she gets lost in the world through her camera lens. When Kei Akahoshi, a fellow photography enthusiast, invites her to stay at the Lens Inn, an acclaimed boarding house for the school's photography club members, Mako sees it as a chance to explore new horizons. On her way to the boarding house, Mako stumbles upon a puppy, and she starts to take a picture of it. However, to her surprise, she also captures a long-haired boy walking the dog.
