Following the 1986 Rokkenjima Mass Murder Incident, Ange Ushiromiya is the last surviving member of her family. Bearing immense guilt for being unable to accompany her parents and older brother Battler to the island, Ange has been desperate to know the truth behind the grim events. However, 12 years later, further hardships torment the grieving girl—isolating her from the world she once loved. On the brink of giving up, Ange is visited by Frederica Bernkastel, the Witch of Miracles. As a spectator of Beatrice's games, Bernkastel offers Ange a chance to not only learn what occurred on Rokkenjima, but also exact revenge on the person who murdered her family. Despite the possibility that her wish will go unfulfilled, Ange accepts the deal and inherits the name of the Golden Witch, allowing her to travel back in time to assist Battler. This new, spirited alliance provides Battler the conviction to fervently proceed in his uphill battle as the game board continues to transform in unexpected ways.
