Despite the secretive nature of magic and the witches who practice it, Coco, a simple dressmaker's daughter, has always harbored a fascination with spellcasting. An unexpected opportunity presents itself when she spies on the skilled witch Qifrey, and discovers that the magic she had read about in her favorite picture book was, in fact, real. Eager to test out her newfound knowledge, Coco starts experimenting with spells, which quickly results in disastrous consequences for her home. Luckily, Qifrey is able to rescue her in the nick of time, and recognizes her potential as the first person he's encountered who could help track down the Brimmed Caps—a notorious group of heretics who use forbidden body-altering magic and distribute magical objects among the general public. To prepare for the mission, Qifrey decides to train Coco and his other apprentices, but they'll need to work together and improve their skills before they're ready to confront the Brimmed Caps.

Out of nowhere, I found myself transported to a completely different world, likely due to a hero summoning. Unfortunately, I wasn't the hero they'd been hoping for, but someone else entirely. Despite my fears of falling victim to overused tropes, I found myself thrust into the middle of a conflict... or so I thought. As it turns out, the Demon Lord had been vanquished a millennium ago, and the supposed hero was just a theatrical figure in a festival. The nobility had taken us in with open arms, and even the demon race enjoyed amicable relations with humans. Wars hadn't been waged for 800 years, and the Guild and Order of Knights effectively dealt with any monster problems. And what of getting back home? It seemed completely safe. Given these circumstances, what else could I do but enjoy my time in this new world to the fullest? I decided to immerse myself in their culture and take in all the sights and sounds this realm had to offer. Once I'd seen the festival that only came around once a decade, I'd return home without a worry in the world.
