The story of Nogi Wakaba wa Yuusha de Aru takes place during the Divine Era, 300 years prior to current times, specifically in the year 2018. At its core is the Hero Team, composed of Nogi Wakaba (ancestor of Nogi Sonoko), Uesato Hinata, Takashima Yuna, Koori Chikage, Doi Tamako, and Iyojima Anzu.
In August 2019, a message from extraterrestrial beings warned scientists about impending catastrophes that would strike Earth. This led to the discovery of various extraterrestrial life forms making contact with humans. Those affected by the energies of these life forms, known as the Third Eye, gained mysterious abilities.
